I have been a fan of Charlamagne Tha God since his days as Wendy Williams’ sidekick if you will, before 2008. He was always so blunt and honest with his thoughts, it was refreshing to hear on a daily basis. Since his firing from Wendy Williams’ radio show, Charlamagne has continued in radio, moved over to television, and recently became one of the New York Times best-selling authors. One thing has not changed, and that’s his brutal honesty regardless of topic.
On his morning radio show, The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne has a bit called Donkey of the Day. This is where he takes about two to five minutes speaking on some ass in the news/media. He tells us what they did, what makes their actions ass-worthy, and how they could have fixed or should fix the situation.
November 10, 2017, Charlamagne awarded HIMSELF, Donkey of the Day! To me, this act proved he is not above self-criticism, ridicule, change, and correction. I’m not awarding him though I am thanking him for being so honest in the public eye.
Take a listen as he discusses his ties to rape culture. Listen as many times as necessary to embrace the truth he speaks in each sentence. At some point though, it sounds like a confession as well. I’ll let you be the judge!
